Are you missing the ride?

Don’t just watch—jump on AI for the ride of your life

When I was 10 years old, I went to the State Fair with one goal: to ride the double Ferris Wheel.

It towered so high above the fairgrounds I could barely imagine the view. I had saved $5.50—enough to ride it again and again.

But here’s what happened: I stood frozen on the ground, paralyzed by my fear of heights. My brothers—just a year or two older—jumped on without hesitation. They whooped, laughed, and rode until dusk.

Me? I just watched. I waited. I wished.

That’s exactly where many people are standing with AI right now. Watching from the ground, curious but hesitant. Meanwhile, others are already on the ride, seeing new heights, new possibilities, and new knowledge they never imagined.

The truth? AI isn’t scary—it’s an invitation. Like that Ferris Wheel, it can lift you up, give you a broader perspective, and make your journey both thrilling and easier.

So, don’t just watch. Here are five ways to “jump on the AI Ferris Wheel”:

1. Take one small ride. You don’t need to master AI overnight. Start simple: ask ChatGPT to write a recipe from the random groceries in your fridge, or draft a thank-you note. The point is to play.

2. Treat it like a partner, not a threat. Think of AI as a super-smart assistant. It won’t replace you—it frees you. It gives you a head start so you can do the part only you can do: think, edit, and decide.

3. Use it to save time. Try it for brainstorming headlines, summarizing long emails, or rewriting dense text into something snappy. Those “extra” hours you get back? That’s the real magic.

4. Ask boldly, edit wisely. AI is a tool, not a truth-teller. Your job is to judge what’s useful. Don’t just accept answers—polish them to reflect your unique voice and judgment.

5. Ride again and again. The more you use AI, the more confident you’ll feel. Like the Ferris Wheel, the first ride might be shaky. But after a while? You’ll want to go higher, faster, and see more.

AI isn’t just a trend—it’s a ride worth taking. Don’t let fear keep you on the sidelines.

I’d love to show you how AI can take your career documents—LinkedIn profile, résumé, cover letters—to new heights.
